How does the RSPCA work with pet rescue groups?

RSPCA member societies work with rescue groups in various ways to maximise positive welfare outcomes for animals who come into our care. A rescue group is defined as a not-for-profit group or organisation that rehomes companion animals. A rescue group may operate as a shelter and/or foster care network.

This question is not easily answered because it depends on the child. Some teenagers are not aware of the responsibilities of pet ownership, while there are many very responsible 7, 8 or 9 year olds who understand the commitments required.
